Youth Soccer 2026
A note from our new U16 convenors, Richard and Sandi.
Last night, a grandfather and his daughter approached Sandi and I. His young granddaughter had arrived looking for a team to play with after her own game’s cancellation due to graduation week. We found a spot for her, and it was a joy to watch her run onto the field, full of energy and enthusiasm, playing a game she clearly loved.
After the game, I asked her if she had fun. Her face lit up with a smile and sparkling eyes as she replied, “Oh yes!”
As they walked away, her grandfather turned around and came back to speak with me. He thanked us for running a league that was so well organized and welcoming. It was one of those genuine moments of appreciation that goes straight to the heart. It reminded me why what we do matters.
At a time when screen time continues to compete for our attention, it’s rewarding to be part of something that brings children, parents, and grandparents together.
The league is about much more than soccer. It’s about community, connection, healthy activity, and creating positive memories for families.

Rain or Shine? Replay?
If in doubt about the weather, we do play rain or shine. At the first sign of lightning, we will immediately suspend play to ensure the safety of all participants.
Games that are cancelled due to weather events will not be rescheduled for replay as our fields for play are only booked until the end of June.
Health & Safety at the Fields
Health and safety for all players and spectators is vitally important. When at the fields, we respectfully ask that everyone comply with City bylaws by keeping dogs on leash at all times and that, if you need to smoke or vape, you do so well away from all playing fields and spectator areas.
